Kevin Torres, also known as “Sarco,” faced his conviction on Wednesday, June 5 after a trial in which the jury deliberated for less than an hour, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.

The killing of 19-year-old Daniel Garcia-Carbajal, of Freeport, took place on Thursday, March 4, in Freeport, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, the body of Garcia-Carbajal was found deceased in Cow Meadow Park with an apparent gunshot wound.
Manuel Aparicio Gomez, age 22, of Hempstead and Edgardo Caballero, age 18, of Far Rockaway, were arrested on Sunday, April 25, in connection with the killing, police said.

Tulio Ayala, age 42, of Central Islip, made the plea on Wednesday, April 14, a day after he was arrested by Nassau County Police on murder and conspiracy charges for the killing in a Freeport park on Thursday, March 4.
