Long Island Man Admits Gunning Down, Killing 25-Year-Old, DA Says
A Long Island man man has pleaded guilty to murder for the shooting death of a 25-year-old during an argument.
Ryan Hamilton, age 24, of Hempstead, admitted to the murder of Trendabi Reid in May 2021, on Thursday, Feb. 15, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly.
Hamilton, age 24, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He is expected to be sentenced to 19 years to life in prison, the DA's Office said.

Luis Alejandro Varela, age 24, of Mineola, and William Reyes-Fuentes, age 27, from Uniondale, pleaded guilty Friday, June 24, for the August 2017 machete murder of Carlos Rivas-Majano, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly on Monday, June 27.

A 23-year-old Long Island man was found guilty of stabbing his former college lacrosse teammate, a Northern Westchester County man, during a dispute about a loud party.
Matthew Stockfeder was convicted on Thursday, March 24, of first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the 2019 stabbing of his then-roommate Justin Corpolongo, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

A man was convicted for his role in a pattern burglary ring that targeted homes in gated communities on the North Shore of Long Island.
Brayan Castano, 33, of Elmhurst, Queens, was convicted on Friday, Oct. 22 in a jury trial of seven counts of burglary in the second degree, attempted burglary in the second degree, and possession of burglar’s tools.
Castano was acquitted of one count of burglary in the second degree. The trial began on Monday, Sept. 20. The jury deliberated for just over a day before rendering a verdict. Castano is due back for sentencing Tuesday, Jan. 11.
