Residents Displaced After Syosset Home Severely Damaged In Fire Residents of a Long Island home were displaced after a fire severely damaged the residence.  Responders raced to the house in Syosset, located on Bluebird Drive, as it became engulfed in flames at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, the Nassau County Police Department said. The 42-year-old man who owned the home told authorities that all occupants were outside, NCPD said. Apartments Damaged After Fire Breaks Out On Long Island Several residences were damaged and multiple people were displaced after a fire broke out at a Long Island apartment complex, police said. According to officials, the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at one of the units in the Eagle Rock apartment complex on Pond Road in Woodbury in Nassau County. Long Island Man Who Fell In Neck-Deep Water Rescued By Police Officer A Long Island man who fell in the water off Cold Spring Harbor State Park was rescued by a Suffolk County police officer who responded to a 911 call. The incident took place around 8:50 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, when Officer Christopher Jablonski and saw Erik Holm, 43, of Bayville, in neck-deep water. Jablonski jumped into a small boat that was on the shore and used his arms to paddle out to Holm.  Holm held on to the boat and Jablonski jumped into the water and used a rope to help pull him and the boat back to shore, police said.
