HVAC Contractor Stiffs Long Island Homeowner Out Of $4K, Police Say
The owner of a Long Island HVAC company is accused of taking a homeowner’s money and running.
Francis Warner, age 41, of Brentwood, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 21, according to Suffolk County Police.
Warner owns Warner Brothers Air Max HVAC, based in Medford.
A North Bellport man told police he hired Warner in October 2023 to do HVAC work on his home and had paid Warner $3,850.
Despite receiving payment, Warner never returned to complete the job, police said.
Warner was arrested Tuesday morning during a traffic stop in Brentwood.

A 22-year-old woman is facing vehicular manslaughter charges after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian on Long Island while intoxicated.
The crash happened at around 3:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in Lawrence, on Rockaway Turnpike near Nassau Expressway.
Dei Aisha Wynter, of Central Islip, was driving a Tesla southbound on Rockaway Turnpike when she struck the victim was he walked westbound in front of a Costco, according to Nassau County Police.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Police Medic. Authorities have not released his name, age, or hometown.

Duo Serves Phony Eviction Notice To Tenant Of Long Island Apartment, Police Say
Two property managers are facing charges for allegedly serving a Long Island resident a forged eviction notice.
Grace Rossi, age 52, and Cheryl Florie, age 43, both of Centereach, were arrested Friday, Oct. 13, on suspicion of forgery and related charges, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies began investigating after the victim contacted the agency saying a 14-day eviction notice that appeared to be fake had been posted on the door of their Centereach apartment.
