The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 21 in Carle Place. Matthew Ryan, age 42, of Mineola, was driving his 2014 Dodge Ram westbound on Westbury Avenue when he crossed over into eastbound lanes of traffic and struck a 2021 Dodge Ram, Nassau County Police said. It happened around 12:50 a.m. Friday, April 21 in the hamlet of Great River. Man Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Car On Long Island Roadway A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car on Long Island. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday, March 26 in New Hyde Park on Hillside Avenue near North 4th St. According to Nassau County Police detectives, the 69-year-old was struck by a 2016 Chrysler, being driven by a 74-year-old man. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said. The driver remained at the scene. A Bellmore-Merrick Fire Department ambulance was traveling northbound on Newbridge Road and was struck by a 2019 Subaru traveling westbound on Camp Avenue, Nassau County Police said.
