Trio Recruits Own Kids To Steal From Nassau County Macy's, Police Say
Three people are accused of recruiting their own children to help them steal from a Macy’s store on Long Island. The incident happened in East Garden City, at Roosevelt Field Mall, shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. According to Nassau County Police, a security guard stopped two women and a man who left the store while concealing dozens of items that weren't paid for. The trio were accompanied by three children, ages 3, 10, and 13. Together, the group stole 67 pieces of merchandise by concealing items inside bags and a stroller, police said. A pair of men from New York City were arrested in connection to a slew of drug store burglaries across Long Island, police said. Nassau County Police officers said that the two men — 22-year-old Kyle Morgan and 19-year-old Tyrone Owens, Jr — were arrested during a traffic stop in Freeport on the night of Thursday, March 28. At about 9 p.m. that night, the two had previously been spotted at the Walgreens in North Bellmore, located at 703 Newbridge Road. Two Men Accused Of Stealing Numerous Catalytic Converters In Elmont
Two men were arrested and accused of stealing numerous catalytic converters on Long Island. The catalytic converters were stolen on Hunnewell Avenue and Louis Avenue in Elmont between 5 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Officers responded to a report on Clement Avenue of two men trying to use a Milwaukee reciprocating saw to remove the catalytic converters from vehicles, NCPD reported. A man who was arrested for an attempted burglary reportedly tried to avoid detection by covering a video surveillance camera with a toy, according to Nassau County Police. In the alleged incident, on Saturday, June 22 at 9:50 p.m., in Searingtown, a Birch Drive homeowner received a cell phone alert to a motion being detected in his backyard, said the Nassau County Police Department.
