Westchester Physician, NY Pharmacist Illegally Prescribed, Dispensed Opioids: Feds
A Westchester County physician and a pharmacy owner from Long Island both face federal charges in connection with their alleged illegal distribution of highly addictive opioids, officials announced.
Nassau County resident Feroze Nazirbage of Bellerose, age 50, and Larchmont resident Mordechai Bar, age 71, were both arrested on Wednesday, June 5 and charged with illegally diverting oxycodone and other controlled substances, the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced.

Million-Dollar Winners: Group Including Long Islanders Claims Top Prize
A group of six people, including some from Long Island, have claimed their top lottery prize, splitting it amongst themselves, lottery officials said.
On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the New York Lottery announced that the lucky group had claimed their million-dollar prize for matching the first five numbers for the Mega Millions drawing that occurred months before.
The group included two Nassau County residents:
Mindy Golomb of Great Neck, who won $108,500 after required withholdings; and
Susan Eugene from Bellerose, who won $102,040 after required withholdings.

Woman Purchases Winning $1M NY Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket At Gas Station In Region
A woman has claimed a $1,000,000 New York Lottery prize from a winning ticket purchased at a gas station on Long Island.
Parminder Kaur, of Olathe, Kansas, claimed the top prize from the New York Lottery's $1,000,000 Payout Bonus scratch-off game.
“It feels awesome,” Kaur told NY Lottery after claiming her prize.
She received her prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $598,920 after required withholdings, NY Lottery said.
NY Lottery said the ticket was purchased at the gas station located at 252-02 Union Turnpike in Bellerose.
