Woman Killed, Man Seriously Injured In Great River Crash
One person was killed and another seriously injured in an overnight crash on Long Island.
It happened around 12:50 a.m. Friday, April 21 in the hamlet of Great River.
A 1998 Jeep was traveling southbound on Great River Road, approximately 100 feet south of Montauk Highway, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, ejecting both occupants, Suffolk County Police said.
The passenger in the Jeep, NeriBeth Medina-Mas, age 25, of Brentwood, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

A Long Island man has been apprehended after authorities say he fatally stabbed his cousin and injured his cousin’s girlfriend.
Wilson Felipe Andrade-Molina, age 37, stabbed his cousin, Luis Miguel Andrade-Cando, at their place of employment, located on Oser Avenue in Hauppauge, at approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, Suffolk County Police said.
Andrade-Molina, of Brentwood, then drove to Charter Oaks Avenue in Brentwood and stabbed Andrade-Cando’s girlfriend at approximately 8:05 a.m., according to police.

Nearly two years after a woman was found dead at a Long Island home, her killer has confessed and admitted to strangling a second woman.
Darren Mansfield, age 23, of Bay Shore, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and strangulation on Wednesday, March 29, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney. Mansfield is expected to receive a 30-year prison sentence for the two charges.

A 19-year-old Long Island man who was under the influence on Christmas Day when he hit and killed another man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide and other charges.
The crash took place in Suffolk County on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, in Islip.
