A man critically injured in a fiery crash on Long Island has died from his injuries, authorities announced Monday morning, Nov. 11.
Richard Sorrentino, age 34, of Queens, was pronounced dead by hospital staff on Friday, Nov. 8, Nassau County Police said.
The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, around 6:55 p.m. in Bellmore.
Sorrentino was riding a black motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway near Rose Place when he struck a bicyclist attempting to cross the roadway.

30-Year-Old From Mastic Dies After Being Found Injured On Moriches Roadway
A local man has died after being found unconscious on a Long Island roadway.
At about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, a 911 caller reported the injured man lying on the road in Moriches, Suffolk County Police said.
The man, John Ballard, age 30, of Mastic, was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue.
On Thursday morning, Aug. 8, police reported that Ballard died of his injuries on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

47-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Police Car On Long Island
A 47-year-old man has died after being struck by a police vehicle on Long Island, authorities said.
The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in Uniondale, near Front Street and New York Avenue, according to Nassau County Police.
Investigators said Miguel Romero, age 47, of Uniondale, was attempting to cross southbound on Front Street when he was struck by an unmarked Nassau County Police vehicle, suffering multiple injuries, police said.
He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
