Woman Struck, Killed While Crossing Sunrise Highway A woman has been killed after she was hit by a car on a busy Long Island highway. New Update: Woman Killed On Long Island Highway ID'd According to Nassau County Police, the Lynbrook incident happened on Sunday, Feb. 25. The victim, a 71-year-old woman, was walking northbound on Broadway at around 7 p.m. She was crossing Sunrise Highway (Route 27) when she was hit by a 2019 Cadillac XT5.
