At 7: 17 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, a report came in of two teenage boys stranded in the marsh area on their jet skis near Parsonage Cove in Oceanside, according to Nassau County Police.
One of the teens, 17, was close to the shore and assisted by a civilian prior to police arrival. The second teen, 17, was further into the marsh and rescued by a Nassau County Police helicopter then taken to a safe location, said police. Neither of the teenagers was injured, according to police.
Emergency Services Unit, Marine Bureau, Nassau County Aviation, Oceanside Fire Department and Fourth Precinct Units responded to the rescue.
