Officers were called at around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 with reports that several people were seen going through parked cars in Wantagh, on Lawrence Drive, according to Nassau County Police.
When officers arrived, they found a stolen Jaguar that matched the suspects’ vehicle description. It had been involved in an earlier crash on Oakfield Avenue in North Bellmore, police said.
Three men fled the vehicle on foot and were later arrested following an "extensive search," according to police. A fourth suspect was arrested after officers noticed her circling the area in another vehicle.
According to detectives, the four have been tied to numerous larcenies that occurred in Wantagh and Searingtown in February 2023.
Police identified the suspects as:
- Linette Richards, age 21, of Elmont; charged with:
- Criminal facilitation - fourth degree
- Criminal possession of stolen property - fifth degree
- Jean Renoldson, age 22, of Brooklyn; charged with:
- Unauthorized use of a vehicle -third degree
- Criminal possession of stolen property - second, fourth, and fifth degrees
- Criminal trespass - third degree
- Honore Philippeaux, age 23, of Brooklyn; charged with:
- Unauthorized use of vehicle - third degree
- Criminal possession of stolen property - second degree
- Two counts of criminal possession of stolen property - fourth degree
- Two counts of criminal possession stolen property - fifth degree
- Criminal trespass - third degree
- Omary Black, age 22, of Springfield Gardens, Queens; charged with:
- Unauthorized use of vehicle - third degree
- Criminal possession of stolen property - second, fourth, and fifth degrees
- Criminal trespass - third degree
All four suspects were scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, March 1.
