The incident took place in Woodbury around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, the victim left his Chauncey Place home from Saturday, Sept. 10 to Sunday, Sept. 11, and when he returned he found the rear sliding glass door was wide open and the house was ransacked by an unknown person.
No injuries were reported. The missing items are unknown at this time, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
