One Killed, Two Seriously Injured In Single-Car Long Island Crash

One person was killed and two others received serious injuries when a car crashed into a tree and then caught fire.

The single-vehicle crash took place around 8:44 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13 on Pine Road, near Lakeview Drive, in Mastic Beach, said the Suffolk County Police.

Police said the two surviving occupants were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

The identity of the person killed has not been released.

Mastic Beach firefighters responded to the scene and quickly extinguish the fire.

An investigation is underway.
