A Nassau County Police sergeant phoned Donald Schreiner, aged 34, of Oceanside, at 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 to follow up on a complaint Schreiner had submitted, according to police.
Over the phone, Schreiner allegedly threatened to harm the officer with an assault rifle he owned. Officers then responded to Schreiner’s home and arrested him without incident.
His rifle was confiscated and there were no reported injuries.
Schreiner is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm,
- Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and
- Second-Degree Aggravated Harassment.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at the First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, March 31.
