That incident occurred on Friday, June 21 at about 9:50 p.m. in Baldwin.
According to detectives, while attempting to cross Grand Avenue at Sunrise Highway, the man was hit by a 2015 Mazda that was traveling northbound.
As a result of the collision, the man suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead by a staff physician, according to police.
The driver, a 27-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not injured, police said. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
