Long Island Woman Fatally Stabs Ex-Boyfriend's Mother, Police Say

A Long Island woman has been apprehended after police say she stabbed her ex-boyfriend and his mother, who died from injuries sustained in the incident.

The incident happened Thursday, Dec. 23 in Deer Park when Shaquela Titley, age 30, first stabbed her ex-boyfriend's mother, 85-year-old Marie Mille, to death at Mille's residence at 169 Smith Street, Suffolk County Police said. 

Mille’s son, Joseph Mille then returned to the home and Titley stabbed him, police said. 

Joseph Mille, age 47, fled and called 911 from a neighbor's home at approximately 12:20 p.m., according to police.

Police are continuing the investigation to determine the time of the initial incident.

Marie Mille was pronounced dead by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. 

Joseph Mille was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, said police.

Titley was charged with second-degree murder. at the Fifth Precinct in Patchogue at approximately 1:45 p.m. 

She was held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, Dec. 24.
