Garage Fire Breaks Out In Farmingdale

Firefighters in Farmingdale quickly knocked down an overnight fire.

Firefighters in Farmingdale put out a blaze early Friday, July 5 that fully involved a garage.

The blaze began around 12:20 a.m. Friday, July 5 and fully engulfed a detached garage on Jefferson Street off of Lincoln Avenue, according to the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company.

The fire was contained to the garage, said the fire department.

The cause of the blaze is unknown and being investigated by the Town of Babylon Fire Marshal's office and the Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad, the fire department's Public Information Officer Joe Scura told Daily Voice.
