Dylan Stolz, of Little Neck, was a former teacher at the Ogden Elementary School in Valley Stream at the time of his arrest on July 4 last year. Stolz entered an “Alford Plea,” which means that he doesn’t admit to the charges, but acknowledges there’s enough evidence to lead to a later conviction and potentially longer sentence.
Stolz reportedly said, “I’m innocent,” after pleading guilty to sexually abusing the children.
As part of the agreement, Stolz, 51, has agreed to serve four and a half years in state prison, followed by 10 years parole for abusing two boys at Brant Lake Camp in Horicon, where he worked for 33 years. Stolz will remain free on bail until his official sentencing on June 21.
An investigation into Stolz was launched last summer, when a camper alleged that he had been fondled. He was arrested in July last year.
In a statement, a spokesperson with the Hewlett-Woodmere School District said that the district is “moving forward expeditiously to terminate” Stolz, who's been on paid administrative reassignment since his arrest.
