According to detectives, while walking on Gables Drive in Hicksville in the vicinity of Gables Road, 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, the 10-year-old was approached by an adult white man who was driving a light gray or silver four-door sedan.
The subject, who was described to be in his 20s with blond hair and wearing a black shirt, drew the attention of the boy and made what was described to be, sexual advances towards him, police said. The victim then left the area and went home. After telling his parents what had occurred, the police were then contacted.
Detectives say Petar Dunat, 18, of Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, was the same person who was arrested on Thursday, June 27 for an incident that occurred at East Nicholai St. in Hicksville.
In that incident, Dunat touched himself inappropriately in his car while asking a 70-year-old woman for directions, according to police. He was apprehended and charged with public lewdness and previously arraigned.
Dunat now faces a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday, July 6 at First District Court in Hempstead.
