Basketball Coach Accused Of Punching Player In Greenvale, Police Say

Nassau County Police have arrested a Queens man for the alleged assault of a juvenile while coaching basketball and are searching for other potential victims.

Cheikh Khadim Ndiaye was arrested around 4:30 p.m., Saturday, May 18, in Greenvale, after Nassau County Police detectives were called to the home o fa juvenile who complained of being abused by Ndiaye, police said.

The juvenile, who was in pain, told police he sustained bruising while playing basketball at Sid Jacobsen Jewish Center when Ndiaye, allegedly punched the boy, with a closed fist, in both of his arms while functioning as an intramural basketball coach, police said.

Ndiaye was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He will be arraigned on Monday, May 20 in Hempstead, police said.
