Longtime Mayor On Long Island Dies

A former longtime mayor of a Long Island village has died at the age of 86.

Joseph "Tony" McNulty died on Sunday, Dec. 12, according to his obituary. 

McNulty served as the mayor of the Suffolk County village of Brightwaters for 18 years. He was also the president of Hendrickson Fuels in Bay Shore.

The visitation is scheduled Thursday, Dec. 16, and Friday, Dec. 17 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on both days, at the Overton Funeral Home Inc, located at 172 Main Street in Islip.

His Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at the St. Patrick's RC Church in Bay Shore.

Donations can be made in his name to St. Patrick's Hospitality Center or to Mercy Haven, Inc. in lieu of flowers, his obituary reads.
