The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Long Island residents regarding the residency of 33-year-old Timothy Dixon, who has reported a move from the Fishkill Correctional Facility in Beacon to a residence on Carstairs Road in Valley Stream.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Dixon as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Dixon had deviate sexual intercourse and contact with his victim after threatening her in October 2007. Dixon was convicted of first-degree rape by use of forcible compulsion in August 2009 and sentenced to a term of 10 years in state prison. Dixon is now under the jurisdiction of the Nassau County Police Department's Missing Person and Sex Offender Registry Unit.
