LIRR said in an announcement on Monday, Dec. 19, that the new Grand Central Direct trains will begin offering service to and from Jamaica Station.

Full service into the terminal and the new schedule will be implemented early in the new year, LIRR said.

The news comes as work continues on the Grand Central Madison terminal, an $11.1 billion infrastructure project that connects the LIRR to the East Side.

Grand Central Madison will be located below Grand Central Terminal and Madison Avenue from 43rd Street to 48th Street.
