PSEG reported late on Wednesday, Aug. 12 that the company has restored power to all 420,000 customers affected by Isaias, though other outages that were identified during the cleanup process still remain.
As of 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, PSEG is still dealing with 763 other outages that were impacting 2,117 of its 1,162,455 Long Island customers.
PSEG said it is actively restoring power to the remaining customers.
The total outage map number includes new outages resulting from recent weather activity as well as new outages the company could expect to see on any non-storm day.
During the cleanup process from the storm, PSEG utilized more than 6,500 line-workers, tree trimmers, and other field personnel, working around the clock, in 16-hour shifts.
“In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have adapted our storm and safety procedures to follow public health guidelines and industry best practices,” the company stated. “We thank our customers for their patience as we operate under these unusual circumstances to safely restore power as quickly as possible.”
