Officers received a 911 call for possible human remains at a construction site in Woodbury located on Fairhaven Boulevard at about 4 p.m. Monday, June 10, Nassau County Police said.
Upon arrival, the officers noticed skeletal remains while digging into the ground.
The Medical Examiner responded, and the remains were removed from the scene and brought to the ME’s office for further examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
