Drunk LI Driver Hits Pole, Lands Behind Bars On DWI Charge: Cops
A drunk Long Island driver rammed his car into a utility pole on Wednesday evening, Oct. 28, police said.
Juventino Rojano Rojas, 40, of Hampton Bays, was arrested following the crash near Wakeman Road and Palo Alto Drive around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Southampton Town Police Department said.
Rojas was traveling northbound on Wakeman Road when he left his lane and collided with the pole, police said. No injuries were reported at the scene, cops said.

PhD Student Who Killed Infant, Abused Twin Baby Brother Sentenced
A former PhD student from New Jersey who killed her friend’s infant son and abused his twin brother was sentenced in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Oct. 28, court records show.
Nicole Elizabeth Virzi, 32, of Saddle Brook, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of children in the death of 6-week-old Leon Katz and injuries to his twin brother.
Leon was alert, behaving normally, and had no head injuries when his parents left him with Virzi at their Pittsburgh apartment, according to court documents obtained by Daily Voice on Thursday, Oct. 29.

A Pennsylvania woman and a New York woman were arrested during a Long Island massage parlor raid prompted by community complaints on Wednesday, Oct. 28, Suffolk County police said.
Xiaoqin Xu, 48, of Ambler, Montgomery County, and Cuiping Zhu, 42, of Flushing, Queens, were identified as the two employees arrested at the business at 294 East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, according to police.

Woman Killed By Landscaping Truck Backing Up On Long Island
A 93-year-old woman was killed when a landscaping truck backed into her on Long Island on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28, police said.
Surinder Kour, of Dix Hills, was walking north on Seneca Court in Dix Hills when the truck struck her at approximately 2:10 p.m., according to Suffolk County police.
Kour was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, Cristian Hernandez Rodriguez, of Huntington Station, was not injured, police said.

Brian Philip Post, of Ringwood, died Friday, Oct. 23, in a crash involving his motorcycle, a Ford Transit van, and a Jeep Wrangler near Hamburg Turnpike and Black Oak Ridge Road around 7:14 a.m., authorities said.
