Temperatures Plunge As Snow Clears Out Of Putnam County; Final Storm Totals

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The storm system that produced snow much of the day Thursday across all of Putnam County has wound down, but that isn't the end of the wintry weather as drivers across the region are dealing with wet, slushy and snowy highways.

After reaching only the mid-20s during the day Thursday, those frigid temperatures will freeze the water and slush on pavement, creating hazardous travel conditions on roads and highways into the Friday morning commute.

Snow totals across Putnam County varied, with most of the county seeing 2 inches of accumulation.
