Several highways in New York that have been impacted by severe weather are set to undergo major facelifts thanks to millions of dollars in state funding being made available. Lane closures are set to slow down traffic for commuters on a busy parkway in Westchester County. On Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., northbound lanes of both the Hutchinson River Parkway and King Street in Rye Brook are scheduled to be closed for road work, according to the Rye Brook Police Department. One lane of a busy Hudson Valley highway will close for five nights a week for four weeks to allow for road work. Beginning on Sunday, Oct. 23, one lane of I-84 westbound and eastbound between Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Road) and the Connecticut state line in the Putnam County town of Kent will close Sunday through Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for paving work, the New York Department of Transportation announced. Busy Highway Exit In Westchester Closes For Paving
An exit ramp on a much-used Westchester highway will close soon to allow for roadwork. The I-287 westbound ramp to Exit 2 ((State Route 9A) in Elmsford will close on Friday, Oct. 21, at 6 a.m., and reopen on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 a.m., according to the New York Department of Transportation.
