At least 13 people were driven out of their homes by a Fishkill apartment fire that took seven hours to extinguish, according to the Village of Fishkill Fire Department. Fire Rips Through Home In East Fishkill
An East Fishkill family lost everything in a fire that ravaged the home on Queen Anne Lane. The fire, which started around 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16, was first reported as a tractor fire, but when East Fishkill firefighters arrived on scene they found the 3,500-square-foot home was engulfed in smoke and flames, said department officials. The fire reportedly destroyed about 90 percent of the home, but the two residents were able to escape unharmed, said a GoFundMe account set up to help the homeowners. A sleeping person was saved from a fire by City of Beacon firefighters when they found him inside a Main Street apartment on fire. Firefighters responded around 3:30 a.m., Thursday, April 4 to a report of a fire at 308 Main Street in Beacon, the City of Beacon Fire Department said. The first truck pulled on the scene within a minute and a half and found a three-story structure with All You Knead Artisan Bakers bakery on the first floor, two floors of apartments and a rear apartment, they said. Man Killed After Suffering Medical Emergency, Crashing Pickup Truck Into Fishkill Building
An Orange County man was killed during a single-vehicle crash in which the pickup truck plowed through the front of a building after the driver possibly suffered a medical emergency. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said Don A. Tuangtuang, 62, of Newburgh, was killed around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Main Street in the Village of Fishkill, said Capt. John Watterson. Putnam Woman Dies In Fire
A 52-year-old Philipstown woman died in an overnight fire at the Stepping Stone Group Home, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The fire, which started around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, at the center at 345 Route 301, sent multiple fire department to the scene, said Putnam County Sheriff's Capt. Lisa Ortolano.
