21-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Killed In Crash
This story has been updated. A 21-year-old man was killed during a two-car crash after allegedly losing control of his vehicle in the region. The crash occurred in Ulster County around 3:55 p.m., Saturday, March 9 in the town of Ulster on Route 209 south of Sawkill Road. According to Ulster Police Chief Kyle Berardi, an investigation found that Noah Ortman, age 21, of Ulster, was driving a 1997 Ford Mustang southbound when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the grass median into the northbound lane of Route 209, and was struck by a 2022 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 24-year-old man. …

Hudson Valley Woman Drives Into CSX Train By Mistake, Suffers Injuries
A Hudson Valley woman suffered minor injuries after she allegedly mixed up backing out and accidentally pulled forward and drove into a CSX train. The incident took place in Ulster County around 2:40 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14 near the Leggs Mills Road railroad crossing. School Bus Crash Sends 8 Kids To Hospitals In Hudson Valley
Eight middle school students were sent to the hospital with minor injuries after a crash between a school bus and an SUV in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Ulster County around 7:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 27, in the town of Ulster at the intersection of Enterprise Drive and Town Hall Drive. Drunk Driver Strikes Hudson Valley Residence, Crashes Into Creek, Sheriff Says
A man from the region is accused of driving drunk and crashing into a house before ending up in a nearby creek, police said. The wreck happened at around 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 in Ulster County near Sawkill and Melissa roads in Kingston, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said. When deputies arrived they found the car in Sawkill Creek and assisted the driver in exiting the vehicle, police said. 17-Year-Old Drowns While Swimming In Hudson Valley Lake
A 17-year-old area teen drowned while swimming in Rondout Creek in High Falls, despite an attempt at rescue by a special water-rescue team. Christopher Pelaez of Wallkill was recovered Tuesday around noon by officers from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to the area 18 Bruceville Road in the Town of Marbletown after receiving a distress call.
