Sporadic, 15-Minute Closures Scheduled For Busy Roadway In Region
A busy roadway in Northern Westchester will have intermittent closures for a six-hour period over the weekend. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect the sporadic 15-minute traffic stoppages along Route 9A between Browns Lane and Skyline Drive in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, Sept. 14, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., to facilitate overhead wire work.

39-Year-Old Man Killed In Northern Westchester Crash
A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash that caused an hours-long closure on a busy Northern Westchester road, police said. Brandon Plunkett, age 39, died in the crash on Thursday, Aug. 15 in North Castle that happened at around 3:30 p.m. on northbound Route 22 between Route 120 and Old Orchard Street, North Castle Police announced on Monday, Aug. 19. Part of a well-traveled roadway in the Hudson Valley will close to traffic for several days as a railroad crossing is replaced. Beginning on Friday, Aug. 9 at 11:59 p.m., Route 312 in the Putnam County village of Brewster will close at the Dykeman Railroad Crossing next to the intersection with Ice Pond Road, the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services announced on Friday, July 26. Part of a well-traveled Hudson Valley road near its intersection with a busy highway will close for several weeks as crews replace a culvert, officials announced. Beginning on Monday, July 15, part of Route 311 in the Putnam County town of Patterson will close between the Interstate 84 Exit 61 on and off ramps and Ludingtonville Road (Route 43), according to the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services. The planned closure of a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway that had to be postponed has been rescheduled in Westchester. The identity of the man killed in an early morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer and a car that shut down a stretch of I-84 for more than 10 hours on Monday has been released. The closure occurred on eastbound I-84 at Exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road/Route 43) in Kent. A busy Northern Westchester roadway will be closed for several days this week as crews continue work in the area. The Yorktown Police Department issued an alert warning that beginning on Wednesday, Quinlan Street will be closed immediately south of Manchester Road.
