2 Cars Rollover In Yorktown During Snowstorm (Photos) Firefighters responded to two rollover crashes on both the Taconic State Parkway and another busy road in Westchester. The crashes happened in Yorktown on Sunday evening, Jan. 19 amid a snowstorm, the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department said on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The wrecks happened on the Taconic State Parkway and on Underhill Avenue, the department said. More information about injuries and the causes of both crashes was not immediately available.

Car Engulfed In Flames On Taconic Parkway A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely.  The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page.  No injuries were reported.
