With heavy rains hitting the area, the Westchester County Department of Public Works has been forced to close a stretch of the Bronx River Parkway due to flooding in the area early Tuesday afternoon. The DPW issued an alert stating that the parkway will be closed from the Westchester County Center to the Cross County Parkway. The parkway was closed from the County Center to the Sprain Brook Parkway at 1:30 p.m. before being extended to the Cross County Parkway a short time later. Support Pours In For Fairfield County Boy Hit By Roof During Storm A community has come together to help an eighth-grade boy who remains hospitalized after a piece of metal roof hit him during last week's severe line of storms. Lloyd Thyne, an honor student at Rogers Park Middle School in Danbury, was attending freshman orientation at Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury on Tuesday when a gust of wind blew a piece of metal roofing that struck him.
