Tractor-Trailer Bursts Into Flames On I-287 In Westchester
A tractor-trailer fire on a highway in Westchester caused a plume of smoke to soar into the air as the vehicle was fully engulfed. The incident happened on Monday, July 24 around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 287 in Port Chester near Exit 11, according to the Port Chester Fire Department. When crews arrived at the blaze, they found the vehicle's occupants outside and knew the response would be prolonged because of the intensity of the flames, the department said. A "severely trapped" person had to be freed from a car after it crashed into a tree in Westchester County, according to a fire department. One fire department in Westchester County faced a busy afternoon after responding to both a tractor-trailer rollover and a car fire on the same highway just minutes apart from each other. Port Chester resident Bryan Santucci died on Thursday, Nov. 3 at the age of 45, according to his obituary. Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out at a Westchester County home over the weekend. Firefighters responded to a house fire on North Main Street in Port Chester at about 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, the Port Chester Fire Department said. Car Crashes Into Post Office In Westchester
Multiple fire departments responded to a Westchester County post office after a car crashed into the building. It happened on Saturday, April 2 in Purchase at the post office located at 3003 Purchase St., officials said. The Purchase Fire Department, Port Chester Fire Department, and Harrison EMS were dispatched to the scene. Officials said the car drove into the vestibule of the Purchase Post Office.
