A former Rockland County corrections officer has been sentenced to probation after admitting to falsifying records and exposing himself to a female inmate while on duty, prosecutors announced.
John Kezek, 39, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Florida, New York, was sentenced following his guilty plea to tampering with public records and official misconduct, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh.
The sentencing occurred on Thursday, Dec. 19.

A man was arrested by New York State Police for allegedly violating a protective order, burglary, and a host of other charges.
Dutchess County resident Russell J. Hines, age 45, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested on Tuesday, April 27, for the incident which took place on Wednesday, March 10, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
An investigation revealed that Hines on March 10, 2021, illegally entered the dwelling of the victim and initiated a physical domestic dispute, said Hicks.

An area man who had assaulted a woman and returned two days later and stabbed the woman and burned down her family's home has pleaded guilty.
Orange County resident Anthony Mahabir, 38, of the City of Newburgh, pleaded guilty in Orange County Court on Wednesday, Oct. 21, assault, arson, and criminal contempt, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
The plea was in connection with the stabbing of the woman on March 26 after being arrested two days earlier for assaulting the same woman, the DA's Office said.

A verbal altercation turned into a physical incident where a couple allegedly assaulted a woman and prevented her from calling 911, police said. Ulster County residents Richard Ronda, 41, and Julie Ronda, 36, both of Accord, went to a home in the hamlet on Thursday, May 7, and got into a verbal argument with the homeowner over a previous incident, according to state police.

Ulster County resident Tyler Nickolich, of Saugerties, was arrested around 10:10 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 31, after Saugerties Police responded to a home for a report of a past domestic dispute, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Sinagra said.
During an investigation, officers found that during a dispute, Nicholich had placed his hands around the victim’s neck and applied pressure to the point of causing the victim to pass out, the chief said.

The incident began around 7:20 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, when New Paltz responded to a home on Colonial Drive for a report of a domestic assault, said New Platz Police Lt. Robert Lucchesi.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for violating an order of protection in the area, police say.
Nathan R. Shook, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 11:40 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, after police discovered he had entered and remained in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the Town of Poughkeepsie, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Michael O’Dowd.
