Two teenagers were killed and a third was injured after a Porsche crashed off of an overpass onto train tracks before bursting into flames in Rockland County. The two-vehicle crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Pearl River on Route 304 in the vicinity of the Crooked Hill Road overpass. Responding officers reported one of the vehicles was on fire along with serious injuries to multiple occupants. Worker Killed After Falling Into Mixing Machine At Area Cheese Company
A 41-year-old man was killed after falling into a mixing machine at the Icco Cheese Company in Rockland County. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the plant on Olympic Drive in Orangeburg, said Orangetown Police Sgt. James Sullivan. When officers arrived on the scene of the accident they were directed to a mixing machine where they found a male employee, Edwin Nunez, of Paterson, New Jersey, inside of the machine, Sullivan said. Pearl River 7-Eleven Armed Robbery Suspect On Loose
A suspect is on the loose after an armed robbery late Friday night in the area. The robbery occurred around 10:45 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on North Middletown Road in Pearl River, according to Detective Sergeant James Sullivan of the Orangetown Police Department. Moments after entering, the man displayed a firearm and ordered the clerk to remove the cash from the two working registers, Sullivan said. The 24-year-old student police say was in possession of a 12-gauge shotgun at a college in the Hudson Valley has been expelled. Two men are behind bars after taking police on a chase over the new Tappan Zee Bridge after allegedly stealing tools from the Home Depot in Mount Pleasant. The men, who have not been identified, tried to steal two “hammer tools” valued at $650 each around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday from Home Depot in Mount Pleasant, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Man Struck, Killed By Train In Area
Police have identified a man who was fatally struck by a train in Rockland County on Tuesday night. The Orangetown Police Department received a call at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, from a passerby who saw a man struck by a train on the CSX rail line just south of Bradley Hill Road. Officers arrived at the scene and tracked down the man, who has since been identified as Blauvelt resident Enda Caulfield, 36. A Rockland County woman who threatened passengers on a TOR bus with racially charged insults and one physical attack with the video of the incident going viral is now facing new charges from the Rockland County Sheriff's Office.
