Motorists can expect delays this week for a busy stretch of Route 9 as contracting crews continue overnight construction work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that north and southbound lanes in Fishkill will be closed from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 30. All lanes of Route 9 are open following a crash that closed the roadway for several hours in Fishkill and injured one person. The rollover crash took place around 7 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, in the southbound lane of Route 9 in Fishkill, said the Town of Fishkill Police. A man with a suspended license has been charged with aggravated DWI after a traffic stop on Route 9, according to police. New York State Police initiated a vehicle stop on State Route 9 in the village of Croton-on-Hudson for a traffic violation on Thursday, March 21 around 3:30 a.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 34-year-old Diego Aucapina Jarama of Ossining, was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Route 9 Stretch Reopens After Fatal Crash
This story has been updated. A busy stretch of Route 9 (Albany Post Road) has reopened following an hours-long accident investigation after a fatal crash. The closure was between Mulford Avenue and Old Post Road in Hyde Park and last most of Sunday afternoon, March 10. The crash, involving a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle, occurred just before noon. The roadway reopened around 5:15 p.m. This continues to be a developing story. The incident occurred when a vehicle overturned after it crashed into a utility pole around 6:30 a.m. in Putnam County. The closure was between Snake Hill Road and Route 301 in Philipstown. Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that closed Route 9 for more than three hours. The crash took place around 5:53 p.m. Thursday in the area of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change, 1788 South Road, in Wappingers Falls, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin Faber. An investigation into complaints of underage drinking taking place at a Hyde Park bar led to the suspension of the establishment's liquor license by the State Liquor Authority. The Authority suspended the license for Darby O’Gills at 3969 Albany Post Road (Route 9) on Wednesday, Dec. 5 after an undercover compliance inspections operation found a high number of underage drinkers. A 33-year-old man was arrested just minutes after allegedly robbing a Town of Poughkeepsie bank. Nicholas J. Salfelder of Lagrangeville was arrested shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, when police received a call of a reported bank robbery at the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union on South Road (Route 9), said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt.
