Area School Districts Will Be Among First In State To Install Bullet-Resistant Doors
Following a pair of mass shootings, a Hudson Valley school district is among those taking measures to install metal bullet-resistant security doors that could protect children from active shooters. A Crown Heights, Brooklyn yeshiva for girls and the Newburgh City School District will become the first in the state to install 150-pound metal Remo security doors in multiple buildings, the New York Post first reported. Educators have among the most important jobs out there, helping to mold the minds of children, which is why the Hudson Valley is home to some of the most well-compensated principals in the state. The Hudson Valley is home to some of New York’s finest schools, with some teachers and administrators earning among the top pay among educators in the state. A new study by Upstate New York determined that on average, administrators earn between $50,000 to more than $200,000 annually, according to the New York State Education Department’s Personnel Master File.
