2 Injured, Utility Pole Snapped In Head-On Crash In Northern Westchester
A head-on collision in Northern Westchester caused two people to be hospitalized and left smoking live wires and a snapped pole in its wake. The incident happened on Sunday, Oct. 8 around 5 p.m., when first responders received a report of a collision in Croton Falls at the intersection of June Road and Grant Road. According to the Croton Falls Fire Department, arriving crews found a head-on crash in addition to a snapped utility pole and smoking live wires. First responders then shut down traffic and assessed those involved for injuries before taking two patients to nearby hospitals. …

Downed Wires Cause Smoking Brush Fire In Northern Westchester
A Northern Westchester road was briefly closed after downed power lines sparked a brush fire that sent a plume of smoke into the air. The incident happened on Wednesday, Aug. 16 around 10 a.m., when crews were sent to Lake Road in Somers for a reported brush fire, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Energy Upgrades: Substation Improvements To Reduce Power Outages In Hudson Valley
A series of planned improvements to a substation in the Hudson Valley is expected to reduce the number and severity of power outages in the area, officials said. Making Upgrades In Carmel To Improve Reliability
More reliable power is coming to thousands of Putnam County residents as NYSEG kicks off an extensive project to make improvements to the power grid in Carmel. New York State Electric & Gas announced a pair of projects - one on the north side of town along Horsepound Road and one in the southern part of Carmel, along Stebbings Road.
