$32M Resurfacing Project Begins On I-287 In Westchester Work has commenced on a multi-million dollar project that will restore a well-used stretch of highway in Westchester, officials announced.  In an announcement this week, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said a $32.4 million resurfacing project has started on a 5.5-mile stretch of Interstate 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) between Westchester Avenue in Harrison and Route 1 in Rye.  According to Hochul, the project will repair road joints, add new pavement, and upgrade road striping on the stretch of highway, which is part of one of the busiest roadways in the Hudson Valley. …

Tractor-Trailer Bursts Into Flames On I-287 In Westchester A tractor-trailer fire on a highway in Westchester caused a plume of smoke to soar into the air as the vehicle was fully engulfed.  The incident happened on Monday, July 24 around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 287 in Port Chester near Exit 11, according to the Port Chester Fire Department.  When crews arrived at the blaze, they found the vehicle's occupants outside and knew the response would be prolonged because of the intensity of the flames, the department said.  With the help of the Rye, Rye Brook, and Purchase Fire Departments, the fire was eventually put out after several hours.…

All Lanes Open Following Four-Vehicle Crash On I-287 In Westchester This story has been updated. A multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 in Westchester that closed all but one lane of traffic has been cleared, state police said. The crash, which included two passenger vehicles and two tractor-trailers, took place around 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, on the Thruway in Port Chester between exit 10 and 11, said Trooper Tara McCormick, spokeswoman for the New York State Police. One person was injured during the crash.  Currently, there are slight delays.
