Wappingers Falls Three-Alarm Fire Destroys Home
Numerous fire departments are on the scene of a three-alarm blaze at a two-and-half story home in Wappingers Falls that has caused extensive damage. According to officials, the fire started around 2:30 p.m. at 60 Huber Road in Chelsea and quickly spread to a three-alarm blaze. Chelsea Fire District, Castle Point, Glenham, City Of Beacon, Hughsonville and Village of Fishkill FAST Team are on the scene. There are no reports of any injuries. This is a developing story. Driver Won't Be Charged In Crash That Killed Mother, Child Near Area Diner
A 53-year-old man whose SUV crashed into a mother and her 10-month-old son crossing a street near an area diner will not face any charges in the incident in which the two were killed, according to the New York State Police. State police said Tuesday they have concluded their investigation into Sunday's fatal motor vehicle accident and have determined the vehicle’s operator, Robert Mahone of Fishkill, who remained at the scene immediately after the collision, was not speeding, was not impaired by drugs or alcohol, leading to no charges or traffic citations. Three Severely Burned, Dog KIlled In Beacon House Fire
Three people received severe burns after running down a staircase through fire, and another jumped from a second-story window in an effort to escape flames ripping through their home. According to City of Beacon Fire Chief Gary VanVoorhis, the fire department received a 911 call regarding a house fire around 4:45 a.m. at 98 Rombout Ave., with occupants trapped inside. Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes and found a two-and-half-story wood frame home with heavy fire showing out the front door and on the second floor, VanVoorhis said.
