Westchester Man Known As 'Free Spirit, Avid Athlete' Dies At Age 44
A Westchester County resident known for his love of sports and adventurous spirit has died at the age of 44.
John Theodore Grandefeld, of Eastchester, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 24, according to his obituary.
He was born in New Rochelle and spent summers in his childhood at the Larchmont Shore Club.

A man who worked at Reader's Digest in Westchester County for decades has died at the age of 63.
Dutchess County resident Robert Riley-Brown, of Wappingers Falls, died at New York Presbyterian Milstein Heart Center on Saturday, Aug. 20, according to his obituary.
He was born in the Litchfield County town of Sharon, Connecticut.
According to his obituary, Riley-Brown worked as a supervisor at the Global Data Center at Reader's Digest in Pleasantville for 27 years, and he later worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, his obituary said.

Zach Chmelecki, Former HS Football, Lacrosse Player In Westchester, Dies At 23
Zachary Thomas Chmelecki, of Rye Neck, died on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
He was 23.
Zack was born Oct. 13, 1997, to Charles and Lisa (nee Zaccaria) Chmelecki.
A football and lacrosse player, he played for Iona Prep and later Rye Neck High School where he graduated in 2015.
Later in his life, he was passionate about surfing, fishing, and cooking.

A Fairfield County teenager reeled in a massive, near-record breaking trout during an excursion in an upstate New York lake.
Stamford resident Liam Bard, 16, landed a 42-inch trout during a trip on Skaneateles Lake in the Finger Lakes region, which approached a state record, according to reports.
The fish was reportedly the teenager’s first-ever lake trout.

A celebration of life has been set for a passionate fisherman, Alan S. Kemp who died on Feb. 21, from a heart attack, at age 38.
The event "to gather and say goodbye" is on Saturday Aug.17 at noon at Kemp's home, 35 North Main St. in Pine Plains, the obituary said.
Kemp was born April 16, 1980, to Keven (Audrey) Kemp and Cheryl (John) Worrall.

Longtime Poughkeepsie business owner David John Niznik, Jr., died peacefully at his home after a long battle with cancer on Jan. 4. He was 54.
