A car fire in Dutchess County sent plenty of smoke up into the air and prompted a quick response from firefighters. According to the Arlington Fire District, crews responded to Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie on Thursday, March 13, where an SUV caught on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze, successfully extinguishing the fire within minutes. Thanks to the fast response, emergency crews were able to reopen the roadway shortly after the incident, preventing any major traffic issues.

Double-Fatal House Fire: Mother, 1-Year-Old Daughter ID'd As Victims In Region
A mother and her 1-year-old daughter were killed in a large house fire in the region that left another child and a man were seriously injured. The blaze broke out in Dutchess County in the town of Clinton at 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, troopers responded to a residential house fire with the East Clinton Fire Department on Clinton Hollow Road in the town of Clinton. Man Dies After House Fire Breaks Out In Area
A 61-year-old man died when an early morning house fire broke out in the area, officials said. First responders in Dutchess County were dispatched to a Red Hook home on Rokeby Road at approximately 6:47 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, where there was a report of a fire that had spread in a home, trapping a man inside. Upon arrival, first responders from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make their way into the residence, though they were rebuffed by the flames and smoke.
