Following a day of recent drug overdoses in the region, a drug task force nabbed a dealer who was allegedly selling fentanyl and crack cocaine. Dutchess County resident Leonardo De La Cruz, age 25, of Poughkeepsie was charged on Monday, Oct. 7, with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell after complaints and tips from residents. An alleged fentanyl dealer was busted by a drug task force after receiving resident complaints and recent overdoses in the region. Orange County resident Jermaine Boykin, age 46, of Newburgh, was arrested on Tuesday, June 4, in Dutchess County in Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Sgt. The chain of events began around 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 17 in Northern Westchester County. Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly made large purchases using a stolen credit card. The card was stolen from a resident in Newtown and used it to buy items and spending more than $5,000, Newtown Police said. The card was used Best Buy, the Apple Store, and Starbucks, all in Danbury, police said. The male is described as being Hispanic, and 50 to 60 years old. A man was caught climbing out of a second-story window after allegedly breaking in and attempting to steal commemorative coins from the home, police said. The New Jersey State Police are seeking the public’s assistance as they search for two suspects that went on a multi-state crime run last summer. For months, police have sought the suspects, who obtained a credit card in the Hudson Valley using a falsified New Jersey driver’s license before committing a similar scheme in Connecticut.
