Hudson Valley Corrections Sergeant Charged With Child Exploitation Charges
A 44-year-old sergeant at the Rockland County Jail is facing over 50 charges of possessing and promoting alleged child sexual abuse material, authorities announced. Daniel Dworkin, a corrections officer sergeant, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 21, following an investigation sparked by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Erratic Driving: Man Charged After Woman Killed In Crash On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway
A woman died after her car was hit by a vehicle operated by a man allegedly driving erratically in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Rockland County in Central Nyack around 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 on Route 59 in the area of Broome Boulevard. According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, the first arriving officer found two heavily damaged vehicles, a gray Audi A6 and a black Ford Edge. A Hudson Valley man was charged after allegedly attempting to carjack a vehicle and then attacking a woman at an area home. The incident took place in Rockland County on Saturday, March 4 in Nanuet. 31-Year-Old Man Charged In Rape Of 11-Year-Old Girl
A 31-year-old area man has been charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl more than two times. Hector A. Chacon-Diaz of Central Nyack was arrested Thursday by the Clarkstown Police Department for the rape of the young girl who is a relative, said Det. Peter Walker, spokesman for the police department. The alleged incidents took place between 2015 and 2018, Walker said. A 24-year-old teacher’s aide who brought a loaded gun into a Rockland County school has pleaded not guilty to charges that include criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds. Warwick resident Gillian Jeffords pleaded not guilty to the felony charge at her arraignment in Clarkstown Justice Court, where an Order of Protection was also issued, barring her from the Jess Kaplan School of the BOCES campus in West Nyack, police said.
