Dog Dies After Being Struck By Hit-Run Driver In Westchester
A dog was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Westchester, police said. At approximately 9:20 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, a dog got loose on Mamaroneck Road near the intersection of Deerfield Lane in Scarsdale when he was struck by a driver who proceeded to speed off. Police said the owner found the dog on the south side of the roadway after it was struck, but it had already died. 10 Arrested In Massive NY Dogfighting Bust, DA Says
Ten people were rescued and 89 dogs rescued following an investigation into an alleged interstate dogfighting ring on Long Island, the District Attorney announced. Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini announced the arrests on Monday, Aug. 9, as the ring allegedly operated in Manhattan, and several other states including homes on Long Island. Westchester Man Charged With Animal Cruelty For Starving, Abusing Dog, SPCA Says
A Hudson Valley man was arrested and is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly abusing a pit bull in his care “for an extended period of time,” the SPCA announced. Yonkers resident Uriah Joseph was arrested by the SPCA of Westchester’s Humane Law Enforcement Unit and charged with animal cruelty for allegedly not providing adequate food, water, and veterinary care for an extended period to his young pit bull, now named Brownie. A Hudson Valley man was arrested after being caught on video allegedly abusing a puppy in Westchester, the SPCA announced. A 21-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing his girlfriend’s family dog, filming it, and then sharing it on social media, the SPCA announced. Police are calling on the public to find a truck driver who fatally struck a dog within its owner's line of vision then fled the scene. A person of interest has been identified after three starving and neglected pit bulls were found running through a an area neighborhood.
