Two Face Drug Charges After Separate Traffic Stops In Kent

KENT, N.Y. -- Kent Police nabbed two local residents on drug possession charges during separate traffic stops, according to the Kent Police Department.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, Kent officers stopped Anthony Garvey, 23, of Kent, for acting suspiciously on Bowen Road. During the stop, officers found Garvey in possession of Dilaudid pills and a hypodermic needle, police said. 

He was released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 14.

The second arrest took place on Monday when officers stopped Austin Garafola, 19, of North Salem, for speeding on Hill and Dale Road. During the stop officers found marijuana and alprazolam inside his vehicle, police said.
