A pair of motor-vehicle crashes slowed down motorists just as the morning commute was coming to a close Tuesday.
The Taconic crash, reported just after 8:30 a.m., was northbound at Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley.
The I-684 crash, also on the northbound side, blocked the shoulder at Exit 4 (Route 172 in Bedford). It was reported just after 9 a.m.
