Putnam Valley Teen Employee Charged With Stealing Cash From Kmart

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- An 18-year-old Putnam Valley girl is facing charges of petit larceny, Yorktown police said.

The unidentified teen, whose name was withheld because she could be eligible for youthful offender status, was accused of stealing $41.97 in cash from her employer, Kmart, police said.

The store is located on Downing Drive in Yorktown Heights.

The teen was arrested and later released on her own recognizance, police said.

She is to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, May 17 to answer the misdemeanor charge, police said.
